Policies & Information
Your First Visit to Mystique
For your first visit to the Mystique Salon & Skin Spa, you will be emailed or texted forms to fill out, so please have them done prior to entering the building to save time. If you are receiving spa services you will need to fill out an intake form for each service.
Scheduling Appointments
We recommend that you take into consideration what you want from your visit at Mystique Salon & Skin Spa. Please arrive on time for your appointment. We do understand that you might be late for an appointment, however we request that you call us so we can adjust your appointments. If you are late it could lead us to shorten the length of the service, change the technician or cancellation. The salon manager will make the final decision on what is best for all parties.
Cancellation Policy
If you cancel your appointment less than 24 hours you will be charged a $25 cancellation fee. If you cancel your appointment "same day" or no show an appointment you will be charged $50. These fees will be charged to the credit card on file. If you need to cancel please call during regular hours of operation. Do not leave a message on our phone service (fees will still apply). Payments, Discounts & Gratuity
Payments
All payments must be made in full at the time all services are completed. You will go to the main reception desk and they will request payment for your services or your stylist can assist you with contact free checkout options. We do require that you keep a credit card on file when booking your services. We accept all major credit cards and cash. No personal checks are accepted!
Gift Certificates
Mystique offers gift certificates for any occasion. gift certificates can be purchased a specific dollar amount. Gift certificates will expire a year from the date of purchase.
Gratuity
Gratuity or tipping is suggested for all services performed in the salon and the spa. It is customary to tip your stylist or technician 20%. For your convenience we provide tipping envelopes at the front. You can turn this envelope in to the front desk when you complete your services. If you would like to add a gratuity and you are paying with a credit card, just write the amount and you can indicate which amount goes to each service provider.
Retail Refund Policy
We offer high quality professional salon and spa products for your personal use. Products can be returned within 7 days of purchase for an in-salon credit or exchange, only if the product has not been used or opened .If a product is special ordered only no credit will be issued. Customized products can not be returned. No cash or charge refunds will be issued. Due to health regulations, we can not accept a return on hair or cosmetic brushes.
General Service Information
Hair and Color Services
Talk to your stylist prior to any service and be honest with what you expect out of your service. Please tell your stylist if you wash your hair with well water as this can cause negative results in a color or chemical service. We suggest that you get a hair detoxification treatment prior to any chemical or color service as this will help the color deposit on the hair more effectively. Bring pictures during your consultation to assist the stylist in understanding your vision.
Facials/Clinical Treatments
Waxing
We have a variety of waxing services and each service may require a different need. We do not suggest waxing if you are using Acutane or Retin A products. Our wax professional will go over all waxing options with you prior to beginning the service. We specialize in using hard wax that only adheres to the hair and not the skin. If you are on any listed medications you must inform the wax technician of this or it could result in your skin being pulled by the wax.
Pedicures
We use lined pedicure units to maintain the highest degree of sanitation. After every service the liner is replaced. We do not reuse nail files or disposables. All our metal tools are sanitized after each client and during each service. You can request a robe to prevent your pants from getting wet, or we suggest you wearing lose fitting pants so they can be rolled up. After your service, we provide flip-flops to wear to allow your nail polish to dry or for you to wear in the salon. We have a PRIVATE pedicure room that is in the spa area. It adds to the relaxation and rejuvenation of our services.
Refreshments & Meals
Refreshments
Mystique Salon & Skin Spa offers a variety of complimentary soft drinks, water, and tea. This service is offered to all salon and spa clients and you will be asked if you would like any of these items during your visit.
Non-Alcoholic options! Mystique now offers MOCKTAILS! These are hand crafted specialty drinks for every age. Our menu is available at every hair station. We also offer non-alcoholic beer.
SPA policies & Children
CHILDREN MUST HAVE AN APPOINTMENT TO COME INTO THE SALON AND SPA AREAS! To ensure that our customers have a relaxing environment and for safety reasons, children are not permitted in the spa area or the chemical side of the salon. The spa is a quiet area and we have to respect the other clients receiving spa services. To ensure the safety of your child, they should be supervised by the parent at all times and never be left unattended or allowed to sit or play in empty styling or shampoo chairs. Parents can not hold children during a chemical service or cutting service. We appreciate your understanding.
Health & Sanitary Conditions
We need you to be very honest with the questions asked on your health in-take forms. If you have the following health conditions, please follow these rules:
- High blood pressure / heart condition - We recommend that you do not have a body wrap, steam, or detoxification service.
- Allergic to iodine - We recommend that you do not have any treatment with seaweed,
- Varicose veins - We recommend that you do not have a body scrub in the areas where you have varicose veins.
- Pregnant women - We recommend that you avoid essential oils, detoxification, steam, body wraps, and hot showers where your temperature can be raised.
Refuse Services Policy
Nail services can not be completed if you have any type of nail fungus or nail irregularity. All nails will be inspected and if there are any nail irregularities, services will have to be denied due to safety and sanitary reasons. If you have a nail disorder, please make sure you let the management aware of this prior to your service date. If you book a facial or massage/body service, please make sure you do not have cuts, abrasions, lesions, blisters, sun burns, rashes, conjunctivitis, cold sores, fever blisters, or skin disorders. If you have any of the listed disorders, your facial or massage service can not be completed due to safety and sanitary reasons. If you have questions about facials or massage, please make sure you contact us. If services have to be denied for any of the listed nail or skin disorders and you booked a spa package, a refund will not be given. Hair services can be refused if the hair is excessively damaged or the scalp health is in question. This could include breakouts, abrasions, eczema, or psoriasis on the scalp. IF YOU HAVE TOLD US YOUR ARE SICK OR YOU LOOK VISIBLY SICK WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE. WE WILL RESCHEDULE YOUR APPOINTMENT TO A TIME YOU ARE FEELING BETTER. WE HAVE TO KEEP OUR STAFF AND OUR FAMILIES SAFE.
Quality of Service
Mystique Salon & Skin Spa backs all of our services with a 100% guarantee within 5 days of service. If you wait longer than 5 days we can not guarantee a free correction service. If for any reason you are not happy with these services that you received, we suggest that you call and speak with our manager. We will take this opportunity to rectify the situation by fixing whatever you feel needs to be done. We do not give a cash refund on services; however, we will provide a correction service at no cost to the client. We want all clients to be happy with the result of their new look. We will be fair and as accommodating as possible.
